Make an Alien

Materials needed:

• Fork
• Bright coloured wool
• Googly eyes
• Things to decorate your alien i.e. foam shapes and pipe cleaners.
• Clear plastic cups
• Disposable bowl or plate
• Glue
• Felt pens

Instructions to make:

• Cut a 10cm length of wool
• Put the cut wool though the middle prongs of the fork having an end at each side
  
• Wrap some more wool round the prongs of the fork
  
• when you have enough wool take the ends of the wool which went through the middle prongs and bring up and tie a tight knot.
  
• Slip the wool off the fork
  
• Cut the wool at the ends where the were wound round the fork
  
• tease the wool into a rough pom pom shape
  
• Decorate your pom pom with eyes etc. this is your alien
  

Take a disposible cup and bowl or plate


• Cut the cup down so it's not too tall (this step can be missed especially with younger girls
  
• Glue your alien to the plate or bowl
  
• Glue the cup over the alien, this is your flying saucer, if there is this this can be decorated

For younger girls you could buy in pompoms or try making with plasticine.
