Making Homemade Planetarium / Telescope

You can either make a planetarium or telescope

You will need:

• Sheet of constellations
• scissors
• Tape
• Wooden BBQ skewers
• Toilet roll tube
• Non focused light source

How to make:

• Cut out the Constellation from the sheet
• punch out holes where there are stars
  
• Put tape around bottom of a toilet roll tube leaving space in the middle
  
• Inset disk with constellation on it into tube
  
• Shine a torch with non focused beam through tube (mobile phone camera light works well)
  

If this is done during the day then girls can look through the tube as if it was a telescope.

If you make different ones and use torches then they can try to position the constellations in the correct positions in the night sky.
